2024/05 - Manx Rally (1 image) - created by Adge on 22/07/2025 at 16:39:21
Last weekend saw Adrian Spencer in the RED Industries/Adgespeed backed Subaru Impreza WRC S11 replica on the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the 2024 Protyre National Asphalt Rally Championship the Manx Rally.

Held on the Isle of Man and covering 130 miles of special stages over 2 days each day counting as 1 round of the championship.

It was going to be a tough couple of days especially with the warm weather and dry tarmac it was going to be a fast one.

Adrian had Ashley Trimble back on the pacenotes as his broken ankle had now healed. Seeded at car 49 out of the 150 starters it was going to be a demanding event and the team were looking to finish both days in order to get some more points for the championship.

The rally consisted of 4 stages on the Friday morning followed by 5 stages in the evening. After the 4 morning stages Adrian was dissappointed to not be able to get a good feeling with the car and they dropped down to 58th O/A. After a long break and some set up changes to the car to cope with the very different roads they set off for the evening 5 stage loop. Stage 5 was a short 4.5 miles and the car felt better so things were looking up. Unfortunately the next 2 stages were cancelled due to a none rally incident, so off the team went for the last 2 stages of day totalling 27 miles and didn't they go well as they moved up the leader board to finish 37 O/A by the end of the day.

Day 2 comprised of 3 stages of 33 miles in total, followed by a service halt and then the 3 stages repeated. With the conditions the same Adrian and Ashley were much more confident and pushed on with confidence growing in the car they moved up the leader board to finish 27th O/A and 4th in class, a very creditable result for the team.
