Well thats another finish for Adrian Spencer and Ashley Trimble in his Red Industries/Adgespeed supported Subaru Impreza on the 4th Round of The Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship. The Beatsons Building Supply's Supported Jim Clark Rally. Based in the picturesque village of Duns in the Scottish Borders for the 14 Special Stages on closed public roads. The rally started on the friday night with 3 stages repeated and with wet conditions it was bound to catch some crews out. Out of the 6 stages Adrian and Ashley only got to complete 4 of them due to proplems for other competitors, but by the end of the night they had moved up to 57 O/A from their 87 seeding.
Weather for the second day of the event was a complete contrast to day one !! Bright warm sunshine greeted the crews first thing this morning and stayed with us all day encouraging some committed driving and encouraging the spectators to will us all on. We did however loose a stage due to a timing incident at the stage finish . At the finish Adrian and Ashley came home to finish 42nd O/A and 5th in Class 5 although that looked in doubt as at the final service before the last loop of 3 stages an oil leak was found from the gearbox due to a crack in the casing, but fortunately it managed to hold together so Adrian and Ashley could get some valuble points for the championship and after 4 rounds Adrian is now 3rd driver in class B14 and Ashley 2nd co-driver in the B14 class so the team were well happy with our weekend efforts. A total of 95 crews finished the event with 34 Retirements.
