Bad day at the office for Team Adgespeed on the Tyneside stages rally over the Military ranges of Otterburn. Being one of their favourite events Adrian and Mark where hopeful of a good result following the repair of the engine problems on the Jim Clark Rally in June. Seeded at car 8 and having made a great start being 5th quickest and 1st in class on the 1st stage beating Jones in his Focaru STi and then moving up to 3rd O/A with the 2nd quickest time over stage 4, only 3 seconds slower than Damian Cole in his Focus WRC05 and with the exclusion of Melvyn Evans in his Impreza S12b WRC due to noise problems. Another quick time on stage 5 and Adrian and Mark had moved into 2nd overall, unfortunately this stage was then cancelled due to a big accident. Leaving service for the next loop of stages Adrian and Mark hit problems when on the way to stage 6 when they suddenly stopped when the clutch fork pin came loose causing the clutch to not work, this problem resulted in them going OTL by the time Adrian managed to fix the problem.
If only!!! could have had 2nd O/A. At least the car and crew were back on the pace, still its better than ending the rally like car 35 on stage 6 which was also cancelled as the crew were airlifted to Hospital, but fortunately they were OK.
